I listened attentively to the debate by Ambiga & Khairy. Yes, Ambiga says that there are “good reasons” for her to call the people of Malaysia to follow her on a street demo.
I am going to quote a few examples highlighted in this auspicious debate :-
1. The old & the dead are voting as they are above 85 years old
Now Ambiga says that some 65k people in the Electoral Roll people who should not be in the electoral roll by default, as they are too old, and their IC will be used by others to vote. Khairy answered that Election Commission (EC) has checked the 12m Electoral Roll against the database at the NRD or Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara and found 42k dubious names coming from people who never updated their IC. After displaying their names, 1.2k people came forward. By Ambiga’s standards, these names should be stricken off the Electoral Roll. Is she not taking away the rights of people who are still alive? Mind you, if a 30 year old goes to vote using the IC of a 90 year old, I’m sure it will not go unnoticed at the polling stations.
2. The gender is wrongly stated in the electoral roll
To Ambiga’s standards, 15k people are somewhat LGBTs. Thus, there is a possibility that people of a different gender goes out to vote. Can you imagine how the Electoral Roll or 12.5 million or NRD database of 27 million was built? If some personnel wrongly keyed in the gender into the database by clicking on a wrong button, I’m sure that this can be controlled by the officers on duty at the polling station. Bring your IC; they will check your name and gender against the list, look at the picture against the person holding the IC, etc. For Ambiga to demean the EC and Government Servants for some minor error, is simply uncalled for.
3. 31k people has been transferred from their constituency, including MB of Selangor
Election Commission corrected the locality of the voters in 2004 using their version of “google earth” in accordance to the actual border and not the address, including that of Tan Sri Khalid. EC informed this to all the political parties but PR & Bersih chose to ignore this fact and make this cleaning exercise a reason to go out & rally. Who is in the WRONG – EC or Bersih? We as citizens are obliged to change our address and update with the Election Commission but do all of us do this? Even Tan Sri Khalid the Menteri Besar of Selangor does not bother to inform EC to change his address to his residence in Shah Alam where he is residing as the Menteri Besar.
4. Foreigners get to vote
If you read Ong Kian Meng’s article that Ambiga holds as a bible in Malaysiakini (et al), you will notice that the case highlighted is Mismah. Yes, Mismah, the poor lass that has lived in Malaysia for 29 years, obtained citizenship in 2011 and exercised her right to register to vote. Is she wrong or are Ambiga and Gang MISREPRESENTING facts to urge the Rakyat to rally?
5. Postal voters, Overseas voters, Cleaning up of the Electoral Roll
Khairy explained that amongst the 8 issues raised by Bersih 2.0, 7 have been addressed but some of this TRANSFORMATION is taking place and will take time. For instance, during the last election, we can see that not only the observers are present when army personnel are voting, but even the media were there to take pictures. Things from the past will be history as now it the time for Transformation to take place... To use these as an excuse to rally is LAME. What Khairy has proven during the debate is that many issues raised have been answered by the EC but Ambiga and Bersih chose to ignore these FACTs and continue to MISREPRESENT their information to the Rakyat. My Maybank ATM card spells my name wrongly on the display screen. I have written to Maybank & they did not revert to me. They must be stealing my money. I must protest this & be noble like Ghandi. I will have an online campaign, rally in front of Menara Maybank & my last mile would be to go on a hunger strike since this involves my money. I will ask my computer geek friend to check how many million of other Malaysians suffer the same problem & form coalitions to bring forth my cause. But wait, I can use my ATM to withdraw money & have been using it for years without fail ! So Ambiga, forget it. I'm going to take my IC, which shows my name, gender & picture, to vote without being fooled by your misrepresented facts !

K7L : The ulterior motive is to justify a rally instead of having a peaceful assembly. Read my article [HERE] to understand how this is part of a bigger non-violent revolution movement to deceive the Rakyat
